“You don't have to believe anything for breathwork to work. Just breathe consistently, and your life begins to change.”

01Who I help

Breathwork is for people who are willing to participate in their own healing and transformation. Almost everyone who comes to the studio falls into one of two groups:

1. About half are dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD. They're not satisfied with how life is going and they're largely looking for relief. 2. The other half did everything "right": finished school, got the job, bought the house, got the kid and the dogs, and still feel pretty empty. They don't have anything to complain about, but still feel dissatisfied with their life. This second group was pretty much where I was when I began.

Both end up on the same path. First comes relief, getting out of pain. Then comes healing, which is less obvious: when someone is physically injured, they lose range of motion, mobility, the ability to move the way they used to. The same thing happens to us mentally and emotionally- we end up with a limp, a limited range of thought, places we're afraid to go. Healing is getting that range back. Once that's underway, self-awareness starts to develop, which is what opens the door to real transformation and self-actualization.

The people who get the most out of this work are the ones who can simply show up consistently. You don't have to arrive polished, spiritual, or even convinced.

02What working together might be like

Most people leave with what I call the afterglow: a few days of emotional lightness, more patience, more capacity for the people around them. For people who practice consistently over 12 weeks, it's common to experience meaningful changes in how they respond to stress, emotions, and everyday life. That afterglow stops lasting a few days and starts lasting the whole week, then that becomes your new baseline.

Jake's Space

03My approach

We don't talk about ourselves. When we start a class, all I say is, "Hi, I'm Jake, we're facilitators, welcome to breathwork" and that's the last thing you'll hear about me. Holding space means creating a container for your experience, not mine. I don't need to talk about myself for that to happen.

04My story

I'd gotten to the top of the ladder. I was also a very angry, aggressive person who couldn't figure out why I felt like I was underperforming relative to my own potential. One day I realized I wasn't being held back by my circumstances.
