“The body is the ultimate healer. My role is to help you understand what it needs and cultivate health from within.”
01Who I help
I work with people across a wide spectrum of health: from those who want to be more proactive to those who have been dealing with chronic health issues for years. They may be tired throughout the day, notice that their sleep or digestion feels off, experience headaches they can’t explain, or feel like stress is starting to wear them down. Others may be managing something more chronic, like high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, or another autoimmune condition.
Some people come to me because they want to create a more natural way of living or address things before they progress further. Others find naturopathic medicine after they’ve gone through the ringer with conventional care, tried a number of things, and still don’t feel like they’re getting where they want to go.
The people who tend to benefit most from my work are willing to take a more active role in their health and are open to a different way of understanding their body and what their symptoms may be telling them. You don’t have to come in already knowing what to do or be ready to change everything at once. We work with where you are.
02What working together might be like
After a first appointment, people often tell me they feel relieved— sometimes simply because they feel heard for the first time. You may not leave with every answer, especially if you’ve come in with several things going on, but I want you to leave with some hope and a different way of beginning to think about your body. Your symptoms aren’t necessarily just a burden; they can also give us information about what your body may need.
03My approach
A big part of my role is being a health guide and a teacher. I want to help you understand how your body works, what your symptoms may be telling you, and what you can do with that information. A lot of what I do is teaching, or sometimes reteaching, people how to listen to their bodies and understand their health differently. When you understand what’s happening in your body, it can feel less scary and you can become a more active participant in your own health.
04My story
I’ve felt called to be a doctor and healer from a very early age. But the experience that really changed how I thought about health was helping care for my grandmother after she developed cancer. Before that, she had been gardening, eating food from home, and living a very active life. As she began chemotherapy and other conventional treatments, I watched her health decline. I remember thinking, “You go to a doctor to get better. If you’re getting worse, maybe there’s something we’re missing.”
05BEYOND THE PRACTICE
being outside in nature, learning to sew, gardening, and eating fun foods!
